Qashqai Bag Face, S. Persia, 19th C., 1' 5" x 1' 4"
Ostensibly, this bag face, in terms of design, is similar to a horse cover from NW Persia rather than the usual types associated with Qashqai rugs. But it is a bag face and a very unusual one. The colors are scintillating, extremely clear. The drawing is very precise and was apparently put together by a very skilled weaver.
The condition is apparent in the images, there is some wear in the field, the selvedges are intact and the ends are complete. There are no repairs or re-weaves, and all the colors are derived from natural dyes.
