Shahsevan(?) Long Rug, SE Caucasus(?), 19th Century, 3'1" x 10'4"

An extremley unusual rug that defies precise attribution, thus accounting for the question marks in the heading above.

The border is outstanding, an extravagant version of this design that we often see in soumac work attributed to the Shasevan.

The condition is ok, there are areas of repair and re-piling but fairly well done and the rug is actually floor worhty. The colors are all derived from natural dyes.
