Musician, Uzbekistan
A haji, as suggested by the white turban reserved for those who have made the pilgrimage to Mecca, playing music in what appears to be a mosque in Uzbekistan. Note the traditional symbol of fertility and life, a flowering pot, painted on the wall behind him. He plays the rabab, a multi stringed instrument from which the sitar was eventually derived, mastered by descendents of the Moghuls in India.
