Doorway in Shigatse

I could not resist taking this photo as I stumbled through the old city of Shigatse. The image was too graphic and my thoughts at the time were that I wished I had a rug with this colour and design. And I still do. The door was painted a light aubergine colour and the design, with a graphic swastika, so well defined and delicately drawn copled with a crescent moon/sun motif above is just too compelling to not reproduce here for this forum. The door is not anything special, did not lead into any special chambers or house anyone in particular and not associated with any monastic function within its confines. The house belonged to that of a commoner, a simple family.
