The Interior of a Kirghiz Yurt, Central Asia
Photos like this are extremely rare here in the west, and more often found in Russia, either on old postcards (as in this example) or in the archives of Russian museums. Depicted here is the interior of a Kirghiz yurt, complete with what is apparently a large embroidery on the wall behind the women and a wooden chest of to the left near the men. Curiously the chest bears a resemblance to those found in Tibet or China, and possibly the photograph was taken in E. Turkestan.
