Vegetable Vendor
A young man holds up a very ripe tomato, dressed in the traditional embroidered shirts that are the trademark of the Kandaharis. Hand embroidery is a perfected craft among the women of the city, and they produce such embroidery in voluminous quantity, with no decline in workmanship with few compromises in terms of traditional design. Nearly all the chador or burqas of the women have this same quality of embroidery as well.
