The Khyber Pass
A view of the famous Khyber Pass. Note the road in the foreground as it wends its way through this natural pass separating the 'tribal zone' or frontier border area of Afghanistan/Pakistan from the sun drenched plains of the sub-continent seen in the background. This photo was taken at dusk in the pass, which after dark is a complete no man's land. Still the sun shines on the plains in the distance, with Peshawar located a mere 25 miles (40km) away.
