The seated man is a monk of some high standing. In his hands he holds a ceremonial drum as well as a bell used in Buddhist ceremony. Behind him are bronze statues on an altar. He is seated upon some sort of rug, but it is difficult to discern what type of rug it could be, though it may be a 'saden', an oversized Tibetan rug for the floor (rather than a 'khaden' for sleeping) with an overall lattice pattern.
