Chodor Turkmen Embroidered Cuff, Central Asia, circa 1900 – 20, 13” x 7”

An elaborately embroidered cuff to be attached to the sleeve of a long coat.

The design pool of the Chodor is very different to that of the other Turkmen tribes where a continuum of a similar tradition is evident.  Even Chodor pile weavings are very different in terms of the design pool, as the Ertmen gol rarely appears elsewhere among any of the other tribes.

The condition is good, and the colors appear to be natural.
