Turkmen in Central Asia

A color photo taken at the beginning of the 20th century in Central Asia, depcting an extended family of Turkmen posing for a photograph outside a yurt. The rug on the ground is Tekke and it is possible the family, too, is Tekke Turkmen but the woman to the extreme right, seated next to the man with a black hat wears a headdress that is not Tekke, but apparently Yomud. The contrived nature of many of these photographs leaves something to be desired in terms of identifying the subjects or exactly where the image may have actually been taken.
