Kurd Bag Face, NW Persia, 19th C., 1’ 3” x 1’ 7”
Excellent color and a classic design type that has always been a feature of weaving from this region. The design on the flatwoven closures of the bag at the top end are nicely decorated, quite unusual actually. The condition is good, with no holes or re-weaves and the colors are saturated, all derived from natural dyes.
