Tekke Turkmen Embroidrerd “Bokche”, Central Asia, late 19th Century,
11” x 16.75” (opened, as seen in overall image)

The “bokche” is a small container made for ‘precious’ objects, including jewelry and other personal belongings, presumably of the woman who actually embroidered the bag.  The work seen here is typical Tekke, a style of color and design that suggests the attribution.  The condition is good, with no real damage other than the usual signs of use.

The collored cloht used to complete this bag is cotton, presumably a trade cloht of some type.
