Baluch Kilim, SE Persia, late 19th C./circa 1900, 4’3” x 9’8”

A colorful older example of flatweave work from the Baluch people of SE Persia.  Made of  wool, it is in good condition and able to handle foot traffic with no problem.

The zig zag stripes in kilims of this type are visually entertaining, holding one’s attention over time and I never seem to tire of having examples of this type around.

There are no holes, or repairs and the colors are all derived from natural dyes.
