Baluch Balisht, SE Persia, 19th C., 1'6" x 2'5"

An extremely colorful weaving featuring the classic “ashik” pattern often seen in balisht (and rugs) from SE Persia.

The quality of dyeing is extraordinary, with a beautiful green ground color morphing to a startlingly clear medium blue.

The borders are atypical, with a camel colored minor border elegantly framing the colorful field patten.

The condition is good, with no holes or repair, the wool pile is virtually full and very lustrous. The colors are all derived from natural dyes
