Caucasian Rug, Shirvan(?), 19th Century, 2'6" x 4'4"

An extremely colorful rug with a cotton foundation, suggesting the Caucasian attribution.  The wool pile is extremely lustrous and soft, approaching the luster and handle of Baluch rugs, an unusual quality.  The colors are all derived from natural dyes.

The condition is good, with no holes or repair
